Questions parents ask
What ages does YSA coach?
Classes and teams run from U10 through to U19, and we also enter men's teams. Saturday FUNdamentals is built for beginners aged 7 to 12.
Does my child need basketball experience?
No. FUNdamentals is for complete beginners and most weekly classes are open to all abilities. Advanced sessions are marked on the timetable, and camp coaches group players by ability.
How much does a class cost?
A casual class is $35. Book online and choose the session that suits your player's age.
Where do YSA classes run?
Weekly classes run at North Sydney Boys High School and Galuwa Recreation Centre in Lane Cove. YSA Elite Training runs on Sundays at Hills Sports High School in Seven Hills.
What is the difference between Mini Ball and Junior Ball?
Mini Ball suits U10 to U13 players and focuses on fundamentals, teamwork and confidence. Junior Ball is for U14 to U19 players ready for stronger competition and more advanced skills. Both are played in the Norths competition.
Do you run school holiday basketball camps?
Yes. YSA runs holiday camps at Dunnet Hall, Redlands in Cremorne, from 10am to 2pm, with separate days for younger and older age groups. Players of every ability are welcome.
